Massachusetts released its unemployment insurance tax rates for 2025 on the Department of Unemployment Assistance website.
Unemployment insurance tax rates for 2025 are determined using Schedule D and range from 0.83% to 4.61% for positive-rated employers and from 6.19% to 12.65% for negative-rated employers, according to the contribution rate table.
Experienced employers are also subject to a Covid-19 recovery assessment rate, which ranges from 0.21% to 3.2% for 2025, according to the Covid-19 recovery assessment rate schedule. The assessment combined with Schedule D results in experienced employer rates ranging from 1.04% to 15.85%.
