Massachusetts to Issue Adjusted 2021 Unemployment Tax Rates

Massachusetts employers are to be able to view adjusted 2021 unemployment tax rates starting July 26, the Department of Unemployment Assistance said in a letter to employers.

Unemployment tax rates are to be adjusted because the solvency assessment was lowered to 1.12% from 9.23% for 2021, the department said in the letter dated July 15.

Employers also are to be notified of the new Covid-19 Recovery Assessment rate, which equals 10.5% of an employer’s unemployment tax rate and ranges from 0.099% to 1.509%, the department said.
