Michigan announced scheduled increases to its minimum wage through 2028 in accordance with a recent ruling from the Michigan Supreme Court.
The state minimum wage will rise twice in 2025, according to an Oct. 1 press release from the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity. The hourly minimum wage will increase to $10.56 from $10.33 effective Jan. 1, 2025, and to $12.48 effective Feb. 21, 2025.
Starting in 2025, the minimum wage will increase annually every Feb. 21. The rate will rise to $13.29 in 2026, $14.16 in 2027, and $14.97 in 2028, according to the press release.
