Michigan Releases 2025 Withholding Guide

Michigan’s 2025 withholding guide was released by the state treasury department.

The state’s flat withholding rate of 4.25% is unchanged. The value of a state allowance increased to $5,800, up from $5,600 in 2024, the guide said.

The state’s taxable limits on pension and retirement benefit payments were also adjusted. Recipients born before 1946 can subtract from income benefits of up to $65,897 if single or married filing separately, or $131,794 if married filing jointly, up from $64,040 and $128,080 in 2024, the guide said.
