Michigan Unemployment Wage Base Unchanged for 2026

Michigan’s unemployment-taxable wage base will remain $9,000 for nondelinquent employers in 2026, the Labor and Economic Opportunity Department announced in its monthly employer newsletter.

Delinquent employers remain subject to a $9,500 unemployment-taxable wage base for 2026, according to the newsletter. Employers are delinquent if they have an unpaid balance of at least $25 in taxes, penalties, or interest, or have failed to submit all quarterly tax reports.
