The hourly minimum wage for Prince George’s County, Md., is to rise by 25 cents Jan. 1.
The wage is to increase to $11.75 from $11.50, according to Maryland’s Department of Labor.
The tipped wage, which applies to employees earning more than $30 a month in tips, is at least $3.63 an hour. This rate plus tips must equal the minimum wage.
Employees younger than18 must earn at least 85% of the minimum wage.
Prince George’s County set its minimum wage through legislation in 2013.
