Aug. 28, 2020, 8:11 PM UTC

Minnesota’s hourly minimum wage is to rise Jan. 1 to $10.08 from $10 for large employers and to $8.21 from $8.15 for small employers, the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry said Aug. 28.

Large employers are those with annual gross revenue of at least $500,000 as of Jan. 1, 2021; small employers are those with annual gross revenue that are less than $500,000.

The training wage, which must be paid to employees younger than 20 for the first 90 consecutive days of employment, and the youth wage, which must be paid to employees younger than 18, also are to rise to $8.21 from $8.15 as of Jan. 1, 2021.

Minnesota does not allow a tip credit.

The adjusted minimum-wage rates would not apply to work performed in Minneapolis and St. Paul, which have higher minimum-wage rates.
