Minnesota is eliminating its two-tiered minimum wage system and updating its labor standards, under a bill that will mostly go into effect on Jan. 1, 2025.
Minnesota currently has one minimum wage rate for large employers and a second lower rate that applies to small employers, minors, certain newly hired employees, and certain employees with visas.
SF 3852 makes the minimum wage for large employers, which is currently $10.85 for 2024, generally apply to all employers and employees starting in 2025 regardless of employer size or type of employee.
