Minnesota Releases 2023 Unemployment Tax Rates, Wage Base

Minnesota announced its 2023 unemployment insurance tax rates and taxable wage base on the state unemployment insurance website on Dec. 1.

The total tax rates for experienced employers will range from 0.1% to 9%, including a base tax rate of 0.1%.

Minnesota’s tax rates for new employers will range from 1.1% to 9%, including the 0.1% base tax rate. The rates will vary by industry, as determined by employers’ North American Industry Classification System codes.

The taxable wage base for 2023 will be $40,000, up from $38,000 in 2022.
