The unemployment tax rate for most new employers in Missouri will rise to 2.511% from 2.376% in 2023, according to an Oct. 7 update on the state labor department’s website.
The 2.511% tax rate will apply to all new employers that are not nonprofit organizations, including employers in the mining and construction industries. The unemployment tax rate for new employers that are nonprofits will remain 1%.
Missouri’s new unemployment-taxable wage base for 2023 will be $10,500, down from $11,000 in 2022.
