Missouri Decreases Unemployment-Taxable Wage Base for 2025

Missouri’s unemployment-taxable wage base will decease to $9,500 from $10,000, according to an update on the state’s website.

This is the third year in a row that the state’s unemployment-taxable wage base has decreased, according to the website. The wage base depends on the average balance of Missouri’s Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund.

Unemployment tax rates for new employers will remain unchanged for 2025, according to the website. The tax rate for most new employers will be 2.376% for 2025. However, the rate for new nonprofit employers will remain 1%.
