Montana Minimum Wage to Rise 45 Cents in 2022, Agency Confirms

Sept. 30, 2021, 7:10 PM UTC

Montana’s hourly minimum wage is to rise to $9.20 from $8.75, effective Jan. 1, 2022, the state Department of Labor and Industry said Sept. 30 in a news release.

The 45 cent minimum-wage increase is higher than increases in recent years because of higher inflation, the news release said.

The announcement by the state confirms the Sept. 14 calculation by Bloomberg Tax, based on statutory requirements and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

Montana does not allow a tip credit.
