New York released its 2026 unemployment insurance tax rates on the state labor department website.
Tax rates for experienced employers in 2026 range from 1.625% to 9.425%, according to the website. Experienced employers also must pay a separate 0.075% reemployment service fund rate, so the total tax rate for these employers ranges from 1.7% to 9.5%.
The tax rate for new employers in 2026 is 4.1%, including the 0.075% reemployment service fund rate.
New York’s unemployment-taxable wage base for 2026 is $17,600.
