Nebraska voters approved a ballot initiative that will raise the state’s hourly minimum wage to $15 by 2026, according to unofficial election results released Nov. 8 by the state secretary of state’s office.
Initiative Measure 433 passed with 58.19% of the vote, according to the election results.
The state’s hourly minimum wage will be:
- $10.50 effective Jan. 1, 2023, through Dec. 31, 2023.
- $12 effective Jan. 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2024.
- $13.50 effective Jan. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2025.
- $15 effective Jan. 1, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2026.
