Nebraska created an unemployment insurance fee and updated its wage-hour and child labor laws under a bill expected to go into effect July 17.
LB 847 was signed April 7 and will go into effect three months after the end of the legislative session, which is currently scheduled to be April 17.

LB 847 establishes an annual administrative and operational support fee that must be paid by experienced employers. The fee amount will vary and will be based on an employer’s gross wages paid in the prior calendar year.
