Nebraska’s guidance to employers regarding the treatment of remote workers for withholding was extended after it was to expire, the state revenue department said.

The guidance, which allows employers not to change employees’ work states for withholding purposes if they are temporarily working inside or outside Nebraska, now is to expire 30 days after Nebraska’s officially declared state of emergency ends, the department said in an update to its list of withholding-related frequently asked questions and answers.

The modification for the coronavirus pandemic originally was in effect from March 13, 2020, to Jan. 1, 2021.
