Nebraska Releases 2025 Withholding Methods

Nebraska’s withholding methods were updated effective Jan. 1, when a withholding exemption for nonresidents attending conferences in the state also takes effect, the state revenue department said Nov. 20.

The top three tax rates used in the percentage method decreased to 5.07%, 5.23%, and 5.37%, down from 5.77%, 5.94%, and 6.1%. The zero tax bracket covers wages of up to $3,310 annually for single employees and $7,910 annually for married employees, up from $3,210 and $7,680, the department said.

The value of a state allowance increased to $2,360 annually, up from $2,250, the department said.
