Nevada’s range of unemployment tax rates is not to change for 2021, under a rule published in the state administrative legislature Dec. 20.
Under the rule (R161-20A), effective Jan. 1, basic unemployment tax rates for experienced employers are to range from 0.25% to 5.4%. The tax rate for new employers is to be 2.95%.
Employers not assessed the maximum tax rate also to be assessed for 2021, as in 2020, a career enhancement program tax of 0.05%.
Nevada’s unemployment taxable wage base is to be $33,400 in 2021.
