An advisory opinion providing guidance on the interpretation and implementation of a measure (S.B. 312) that requires employers in 2020 to provide employees with paid leave was posted Oct. 8 to the Nevada labor commissioner’s website.
The advisory opinion addresses questions related to the employee threshold for providing leave, the status of part-time employees with regard to paid-leave requirements, as well as leave accrual and carry-over. Also addressed are notice requirements, leave increment, and how the rate of pay for paid leave is to be calculated.
