Nevada is regulating providers of earned wage access services, under a bill that will mostly go into effect on July 1, 2024.
SB 290 defines earned wage access services as the delivery of earned but unpaid income. Earned but unpaid income includes salaries, wages, piecework pay, payments to independent contractors, and other compensation that individuals earned but have not yet been paid.
Gov. Joe Lombardo (R) signed SB 290 into law on June 13.
