A new Egyptian labor law generally takes effect Sept. 1, replacing the previous Labor Law No. 12 of 2003 and extending the periods of some leave entitlements, among other provisions.
The new labor law is Labor Law No. 14 of 2025 (Arabic). It extends the period of maternity leave and introduces paid paternity leave, also making changes to areas including bonuses, terminations, and severance pay.
