The Department of Homeland Security’s US Citizenship and Immigration Services released a new version of Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, and its instructions on Aug. 1.
Employers may either use the new form and its instructions immediately or continue using the 2019 version of the form until Oct. 31, according to an Aug. 1 USCIS fact sheet. A Spanish version of the form and instructions are also available for employers in Puerto Rico only.
