New Jersey Releases 2019 Employee Unemployment, Other Tax Rates

Effective Jan. 1, 2019, New Jersey’s unemployment tax rate for employees is to be 0.425 percent, unchanged from 2018, the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development said Nov. 29 on its website.

The rate of 0.425 percent includes a base rate of 0.3825 percent allocated to the state’s unemployment trust fund and an assessment of 0.0425 percent allocated to the state’s workforce development-supplemental workforce fund.

Effective for 2019, New Jersey’s temporary disability insurance tax rate for employees is to be 0.17 percent, down from 0.19 percent for 2018. The 2019 family-leave insurance tax rate for employees is to be ...
