New Jersey to Lower Unemployment Insurance Tax Rates July 1

New Jersey is lowering its unemployment insurance tax rates effective July 1 in response to unemployment insurance contributions having surpassed initial projections, according to a June 18 press release.

Unemployment insurance tax rates will be determined using Column C of the tax table, with rates ranging from 0.5% to 5.8%, according to the press release from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Until then, Column D is in effect with rates ranging from 0.6% to 6.4%.
