New Jersey Unemployment, Disability Insurance Wage Bases to Rise in 2021

New Jersey’s wage bases for the unemployment insurance, temporary disability insurance, and family leave insurance programs are to increase in 2021, the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development said Aug. 28.

The unemployment-taxable wage base is to be $36,200 for employers and for employees, up from $35,300 in 2020, the department said on its website. This wage base also is applicable for employer contributions to the temporary disability insurance program.

The wage base for employee contributions to the temporary disability insurance and family-leave insurance programs is to be $138,200, up from $134,900 in 2020.
