New Mexico Releases 2024 Unemployment Tax Rates, Wage Base

New Mexico released its 2024 unemployment insurance information on Workforce Solutions Department website on Jan. 8.

The tax rate for private-sector new employers is generally 1%, according to the website. However, the tax rate is 1.15% for new employers in the construction industry and 1.16% for new employers in the agriculture, forestry, fishing, and hunting industry. New employers in the transportation and warehousing industry are subject to a 1.02% rate, and new employers the mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction industries are subject to a 1.01% rate.
