The contribution rate for New York’s family-leave insurance program is to increase for 2021, the state Paid Family Leave department said Sept. 2.
Effective Jan. 1, the contribution rate is to be 0.511%, up from 0.27% in 2020, the department said on its website. The contribution generally must be deducted from each employee’s wages, although employers may choose to forgo deductions and instead pay premiums equal to the amounts that would have been deducted.
