New York’s unemployment tax rates are higher in 2021 than in 2020, the state Labor Department said March 4.
For 2021, total unemployment tax rates for experienced employers range from 2.1% to 9.9%, the department said on its website. Rates include basic tax rates ranging from 1.5% to 8.9%, a subsidiary tax with rates ranging from 0.525% to 0.925%, and a reemployment-services fund contribution rate of 0.075%.
For 2020, total tax rates for experienced employers ranged from 0.6% to 7.9%.
