New Zealand’s minimum wages are to increase effective April 1, the country’s government said Feb. 17.
The standard hourly minimum wage is to increase to NZ$18.90 (U.S. $11.99), up from NZ$17.70 (U.S. $11.23), the country’s government said in the Minimum Wage Order 2020. The standard wage generally applies to workers who are at least 20 years of age and not participating in an industry-recognized training program, and to workers from 16 to 19 years of age who have worked for their employer for at least six continuous months.
