North Carolina’s unemployment-taxable wage base is $28,000 for 2022, up from $26,000 in 2021, the state’s Department of Commerce announced on its website Jan. 5.
The tax rate for new employers remains 1% in 2022.
Tax rates for experienced employers continue to range from 0.06% to 5.76%.
