Novato, Calif., Adopts Minimum Wage

The California city of Novato established an hourly minimum wage that is to reach $15 in 2022 for all employees under a measure adopted at an Oct. 8 city council meeting.

Novato’s hourly minimum wage, effective Jan. 1, 2020, is to be $13 for very large employers that have at least 100 employees and large employers that have 26 to 99 employees. The hourly minimum wage is to be $12 for small employers that have no more than 25 employees.

For very large employers, the city’s hourly minimum wage is to rise to $15 on July 1, 2020.
