Nunavut, Northwest Territories Increase Minimum Wages Sept. 1

The two neighboring Canadian territories of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut increased their hourly minimum wages Sept. 1, their governments said, in the first instance of a new annual adjustment for Nunavut.

Nunavut’s hourly minimum wage increased to C$19.75 (US$14.29), up from C$19, its government said in a news release. Nunavut has the highest standard hourly minimum wage in effect in Canada.
