Ohio’s hourly minimum wage is to rise on Jan. 1, 2019, to $8.55 from $8.30, and for tipped employees to $4.30 from $4.15, the state’s Department of Commerce said Sept. 28, confirming Bloomberg Tax calculations of Sept. 13.
The minimum wage is to apply to employees of businesses with annual gross receipts of more than $314,000, an increase from $305,000 in 2018.
For employees at smaller companies with annual gross receipts of up to $314,000 after Jan. 1, 2019, and for 14- and 15-year-olds, the state hourly minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, the same as the federal minimum wage. ...
