Ohio Lowers Form W-2 Online Filing Threshold

Ohio employers filing at least 10 Forms W-2 or 1099-R must file them online starting with 2021 forms filed in 2022, the state taxation department said Nov. 12.

Employers required to file online must file through the Ohio Business Gateway portal, the department said in a notice. The online filing threshold was lowered from 250 forms.

Additionally, the due date for filing Forms W-2 and 1099-R, as well as for filing state and school district withholding annual reconciliations, was extended to March 2, 2022, instead of Jan. 31, because of the new requirement, the department said.
