Ohio’s hourly state minimum wage is expected to rise to $10.10 from $9.30 effective Jan. 1, 2023, according to Bloomberg Tax calculations.
The hourly tipped minimum wage and tip credit are each expected to rise to $5.05 from $4.65 in 2023, based on Bloomberg Tax calculations. Employers may pay tipped employees the tipped minimum wage if the sum of employees’ tips and wages is at least equal to the state minimum wage for all hours worked.
The calculations were based on requirements in the Ohio Constitution and federal Bureau of Labor Statistics data issued Sept. 13.
