The Ohio hourly minimum wage is expected to increase to $9.30 from $8.80, effective Jan. 1, 2022, Bloomberg Tax calculations showed.
The tipped-worker hourly minimum cash wage also is expected to rise to $4.65 from $4.40, effective Jan. 1, based on Bloomberg Tax calculations. Employers may pay tipped employees half of the state minimum wage rate if tips combined with wages are equal to or greater than the minimum wage rate for all hours worked.
The calculations were based on statutory requirements and Bureau of Labor Statistics data that was released Sept. 14.
