Ohio Releases 2019 Withholding Tables

Revised Ohio withholding tables, effective Jan. 1, 2019, were released Dec. 6 by the state taxation department.

The tables slightly decrease the withholding tax rates to match more closely with the state’s income tax rates, last revised in 2015 in Ohio’s budget for fiscal 2016 and 2017 (H.B. 64), the department said in a news release Nov. 30.

The value of a withholding exemption remained $650 annually, the tables said. The department released both a percentage method and an optional computer formula, as well as wage-bracket tables.
