Ohio’s withholding methods were updated effective Oct. 1, the state taxation department said Sept. 5.
The percentage method only uses three brackets with rates of 1.775%, 2.99%, and 3.64%, instead of six brackets ranging from 0.501% to 3.8%. The optional computer method uses annualized versions of the same brackets and rates.
The value of a state allowance remains $650 annually, the department said.
Tables for periods from daily to monthly are also available from the department.
