Ontario’s standard and industry-specific minimum wages will increase Oct. 1, the largest Canadian province’s government said.
The standard minimum wage will increase to C$17.20 (US$12.68) per hour from C$16.55, Ontario’s government said.
Industry-specific minimum wages will also increase Oct. 1 as follows:
- Homeworkers: C$18.90 per hour, up from C$18.20.
- Hunting, fishing, and wilderness guides: C$86 per day for working less than five consecutive hours or C$172.05 per day for working at least five hours in a day, up from C$82.85 or C$165.75.
- Students: C$16.20 per hour, up from C$15.60.
