The Oregon workers’ compensation payroll assessment rate will not change in 2023, the state consumer and business services department said Sept. 8.
Effective Jan. 1, 2023, the tax rate will be 2.2 cents per hour or part of an hour worked by an employee, which is the same as the 2022 rate, the department said on its website.
The payroll assessment rate may be a combined rate for employer and employee contributions. Employers remit the total amount but may require employees to pay up to half of the combined rate, 1.1 cents per hour, as wage deductions.
