Panama Updates Minimum Wages Effective Jan. 16, 2026

Panama’s hourly minimum wages will increase effective Jan. 16, a decree from the country’s labor ministry published Jan. 6 said.

The list of minimum wages is divided into industries and also into Region 1, which covers 40 districts listed in the decree (Spanish) from the Ministry of Labor and Career Development, and Region 2, which covers the rest of the country. Some minimum wages are higher in Region 1, while others are the same in both regions.

Under the decree, minimum wages in both regions range from 1.64 balboas (US$1.64) for small agricultural employers to 5.01 balboas for cabin crews ...
