A final rule to update Pennsylvania’s white-collar overtime exemptions was resubmitted Dec. 9 to the state commission.
The panel must approve the rule, which would increase exemptions to $875 from the $455 federal threshold, before it may take effect.
A hearing on the final regulation (Final-Form Regulation 12-106) was scheduled for Jan. 30, 2020, the Independent Regulatory Review Commission said on its website.
The resubmission signals that the minimum-wage bill (S.B. 79) that was presented as an alternative to the final rule was not expected to pass by Dec. 31, 2019.
