Philippine Regions Increase Minimum Wages

Daily minimum wages covering most Philippine workers increased in June, the country’s labor department said.

The increases took effect on varying dates in June, ranging from June 4 in the National Capital Region to June 30 in Calabarzon, or Region 4-A, the Department of Labor and Employment said in a news release.

The new highest daily minimum wage rate for nonagricultural workers is 570 Philippine pesos (U.S. $10.11) in the National Capital Region, up from 500 Philippine pesos.

The regions last increased their minimum wages at various times in 2018, 2019, or early 2020.
