Philippines to Increase Western Visayas, Cordillera Minimum Wages

Workers in the Philippines who are paid minimum wages are scheduled for a pay increase Nov. 26 on the islands of Western Visayas, where farm workers have one of the atoll nation’s lowest wage floors.

The daily minimum wage, which varies among the regions of the Philippines, is to rise by 20 Philippine pesos (39 U.S. cents) for agricultural workers in Western Visayas, for a total amount of 315 Philippine pesos (U.S. $6.23), according to Wage Order No. RBVI-25 from the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board.
