Puerto Rico Extends Tax Deadlines for Coronavirus

Filing and payment deadlines for Puerto Rico taxes were extended because of the coronavirus outbreak, the territory’s Departamento de Hacienda said March 24.

Deadlines originally occurring in March and April were extended to the equivalent date in June, the department said in a notice (Administrative Determination No. 20-09, Spanish). For example, if a return originally was due March 15, the deadline would be extended to June 15, the department said. Deadlines originally falling in May and June were extended in a similar manner to the equivalent date in July, the department said.
