Amendments to the Australian state of Queensland’s payroll tax act that took effect July 1 extend the reduced tax rate for regional employers and implement provisions related to the deduction for the 2022-23 financial year.
The Revenue Legislation Amendment Act 2023 extends reductions of 1 percentage point for regional employers to June 30, 2030, instead of allowing them to expire June 30, 2023. The tax rate for these employers is 3.75% or 3.95%, depending on payroll size.
