Rhode Island released its 2026 unemployment insurance and temporary disability insurance information in a Dec. 18 press release from the Department of Labor and Training.

Unemployment insurance tax rates for experienced employers in 2026 are determined using Schedule F and range from 0.9% to 9.4%, according to the press release. The tax rate for new employers is 1.21%.
The rate for new employers is unchanged from 2025, but rates for experienced employers in 2026 will generally decrease, since 2025 rates were determined using Schedule G, according to the press release.
