Rhode Island Releases Tax-Related Amounts for 2020

Some Rhode Island tax-related amounts for 2020, including income tax bracket thresholds and the standard deduction, were released Nov. 13 by the state taxation division.

The thresholds separating Rhode Island’s three income tax brackets are to increase to $65,250 and $148,350, up from $64,050 and $145,600, the division said in a notice (Advisory 2019-30).

The state standard deduction is to increase to $8,900 for single taxpayers and married taxpayers filing separately, up from $8,750; to $13,350 for heads of households, up from $13,100; and to $17,800 for married taxpayers filing jointly, up from $17,500, the division said.
