Russia Plans Minimum Wage Increases in 2022, 2023

The Russian government is planning to increase the country’s minimum wage in 2022 and 2023, officials said March 31.

Russia’s federal government is to increase the monthly minimum wage by 4.7% year-on-year in 2022, and by 5.8% in 2023, according to a transcript (Russian) provided by the government of a meeting chaired by President Vladimir Putin and including government officials and representatives of associations of employers and unions.

In December 2020, the Russian parliament approved a law that increased the country’s monthly minimum wage to 12,792 rubles (U.S. $169), up from 12,130 rubles (U.S. $160), on Jan. 1, 2021. The ...
