The per-payment limit for same-day Automated Clearing House transactions increased to $1 million on March 18.
The upgrade to the same-day ACH system was announced by Nacha, a nonprofit trade association, in a news release. The association establishes the rules governing the exchange of commercial electronic payments, including direct deposit payments, through a national network of automated clearing houses.
The previous same-day transaction limit of $100,000 had been in effect since 2020, when it was increased from $25,000.
